Massimo Lorusso
"
It’s a delicate balance of design and structure.
Born in Bari in 1967. In 1986 Lorusso moved to Florence, where he is still living and working, to study at the Faculty of Architecture, where he obtained a degree with full marks, writing a thesis on the history of design. The period he spent at the Research and Development Centre of B&B Italia brought him into close touch with the production and organisational situation of industrial design and was of great importance for his professional education. From 1992 he worked for three years with Architect Francesco Quinterio, doing the graphics for many publications and acting as Quinterio’s assistant lecturer at the latter’s course in History of Architecture in Florence. During his university years he worked with the office of Architect Miranda Ferrara. He joined Arketipo in 1999, as manager of the technical department, and worked on the design and setup of stands for the Milan International Furniture Exhibition and the Cologne Furniture Fair. In addition to that job, he has been working as a designer with Arketipo since 2006.
